Downtown's Flower Mall Open 24 Hours For Valentine's Day

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — The downtown California Flower Mall was buzzing Friday with people looking for the perfect Valentine's bouquet.

Florists began arriving around 4 a.m. to prepare for the holiday rush where business can quadruple.

The flower mall, which is home to the largest flower market in the country and spans four blocks downtown, will be open around the clock through  6 p.m. Saturday and is free to the public.

"It's extremely busy. The guys come in at the last minute and all week-long, I've been telling them, 'Place your orders!' And three days before, a guy told me, 'It's too early'," florist Helena Arellano said.

Flowers at the mart are sold at wholesale prices and customers can save up to 70 percent. Bouquets range from $30 to upwards of $250.
