Fontana Officials Investigate Dog's Traumatic Burns

FONTANA (CBSLA.com) — Police are questioning residents at a San Bernardino County home where a dog was found suffering burns to a third of its body.

A tipster alerted authorities last month to come to a home in the 8900 block of Satinwood Street in Fontana.

They found a 3-year-old chihuahua mix, nicknamed "Chance," with second and third-degree burns.

Employees at the General Dog and Cat Hospital in San Bernardino have been taking care of it since.

Veterinarians say Chance is healing well.

Police are investigating three people who live in the home where the dog was found.

Officials are asking anyone who may have witnessed the abuse to contact Fontana Animal Services at (909) 350-7700.
