He appeared in 81 games with Los Angeles this year, batting .260 with seven home runs and 34 RBI in his fourth big-league season.
Puig is in the starting lineup for Friday's game against the Padres, batting fifth and playing right field.
Before being recalled, the Dodgers briefly placed Puig on trade waivers.
The team that claimed him has been identified as the Brewers, and the trade talks, allegedly involving outfielder Ryan Braun, eventually collapsed.
The #Brewers won claim on #Dodgers Yasiel Puig, but after talks, couldn't come to agreement, per @Ken_Rosenthal. Could revisit this winter.
