Dodgers Outfielder Yasiel Puig Active For NLDS Against Mets

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Outfielder Yasiel Puig will be on the Dodgers National League Division Series roster after speculation that a hamstring injury would hold him out of the series against the Mets.

Manager Don Mattingly said on Tuesday that while Puig will be on the roster, he is unlikely to start over outfielders Andre Ethier and Carl Crawford.

The Dodgers are scheduled to face three right-handers in Jacob deGrom, Noah Syndergaard, and Matt Harvey in the first three games of the series.

Andre Ethier is scheduled to start in right field, with Puig and Justin Ruggiano serving as backups.

Dodgers outfielder Scott Van Slyke will not be on the NLDS roster as he is still suffering from an injured wrist.
