Dodgers Broadcaster Alanna Rizzo Honored With Latina Leadership Award

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Los Angeles Dodgers broadcaster Alanna Rizzo will be honored as part of the Hispanas Organized for Political Equality annual awards dinner on Thursday.

The 26th annual HOPE awards will take place at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles, and Dodgers first baseman Adrian Gonzalez will introduce Rizzo before she receives her award.

The award recognizes Latina leaders in California who have demonstrated leadership and innovation in their respective fields.

HOPE board members, corporate sponsors, volunteers and community supporters will come together to celebrate the accomplishments of both Rizzo and Ray of HOPE honoree Nathalie Rayes, who serves as the U.S. National Public Relations Director for Grupo Salinas.

HOPE is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization committed to ensuring political and economic parity for Latinas through leadership, advocacy and education to benefit all communities and the status of women.

Rizzo is entering her third season as a member of the Dodger broadcast team, where she serves as SportsNet LA's in-game reporter for games called by Charley Steiner, Orel Hershiser and Nomar Garciaparra, while also hosting the pre- and post-game shows from Dodger Stadium.
