Dodger Fans Approve Of Stadium Improvements

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Dodger fans were out in full-force Thursday for the Freeway Series opener against the Angels.

"I'm freaking out right now. I've been a Dodgers fan for like, 10 years now. I'm in love right now. I'm so excited," David Turley said.

KCAL9's Juan Fernandez reported that the upcoming season will have fans noticing improvements to the 50-year-old stadium.

A 25,000 square foot plaza features a spacious outdoor bar and Tommy Lasorda's Trattoria.

"Everything is good. The meatballs are good. Perfect sauce. Everything is wonderful," Kelly Smith said.

"I got the Chicken Parmesan sandwich. It was perfect…really good," Mike Simicori said.

Other improvements to the stadium include free Wi-Fi and pre-paid parking online.

"We paid our $10 parking ticket, so we were ready," Holly Turley said.

One thing fans miss, however, is traditional tickets. They now have to print their own or use a smartphone to get in.

"That's the only thing we don't like. We want the real tickets," Arturo Garcia said.
