Doctors At UC's Student Health Centers To Strike

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Doctors at the University of California's student health centers who are negotiating a contract will strike for one day to protest what they say are unfair labor practices.

About 150 doctors will walkout Tuesday from student health centers statewide.

The doctors are members of the Union of American Physicians and Dentists, which has been negotiating a contract with the University of California since it formed in 2013.

Union spokeswoman Sue Wilson said Monday the university has refused to provide the union information that could help them bargain for their very first union contract.

She says the doctors gave the schools time to prepare for their strike so that important services can still be offered.

Picket lines are planned for all 10 campuses.
