LONG BEACH (CBSLA.com) — Divers were searching Friday evening for a vehicle that careened off a bridge into the San Gabriel River.

Long Beach City Fire had crews around 5:30 p.m. scouring the river under the College Park Drive overpass, near the 22 Freeway.

Crews ended their search around 6 p.m. after it was determined no one else was inside the car, which was left - for now- at the bottom of the river.
