Disneyland Memorabilia Auction Is Anything But Mickey Mouse

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A Sherman Oaks gallery is auctioning off some historic Disneyland memorabilia for devoted fans and collectors.

Disney devotees Marisa Estrada and Jason Hays came to Van Eaton Galleries with a credit card and a dream,

"There's a couple smaller pieces that were looking for," Estrada said.

Among the 800 pieces of theme park memorabilia at auction are retro posters, tabletop models of attractions, a park bench, and an actual ride car from Space Mountain.

"This is actually one of the best collections of Disney memorabilia we've seen in years," Mike Van Eaton of Van Eaton Galleries said.

Higher ticket items like ride cars from the People Mover and Space Mountain are expected to go for at least $250,000.

Not everyone can take home a piece of Disneyland home, but all here say anyone who's ever visited has priceless memories of the park.

Former Disneyland employee Jim Flint is one of those who visited the gallery in Sherman Oaks.

"Oh, great memories," Flint said. "Yes in fact it was the only job I ever had where I never looked at a paycheck - it was that much fun," he added.
