Detention Center Teacher Accused Of Sex With Inmate In Jail Classroom

SANTA CLARITA (CBSLA.com) — A teacher at Pitchess Detention Center was charged Thursday with unlawful sexual conduct with a male inmate, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office.

Lisa Nichole Leroy, 33, pleaded not guilty to one misdemeanor count of sexual activity with a detainee in a detention facility and unlawful written communication with an inmate, officials said.

Prosecutors say Leroy had sexual contact with the inmate Oct. 2 in a jail classroom and exchanged letters with him.

Leroy, who is scheduled to return to court Dec. 11 for a pretrial hearing, faces a possible sentence of a year in county jail if convicted as charged.
