Detectives: Massage Therapist Accused Of Sexually Assaulting Client May Have More Victims

SANTA CLARITA (CBSLA.com) — A massage therapist has been arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting a client, and detectives believe he may have more victims.

Daniel Holbert, 48, was released Tuesday after posting $100,000 bail just hours after being arrested on a felony count of sexual penetration by false representation.

Investigators say Holbert met a Santa Clarita woman in March at the G Train Fitness Gym in North Hollywood, where he treated her for pain. After several massage therapy sessions at the gym, Holbert suggested future therapy sessions either at his home or hers for privacy a gym setting could not provide, according to Los Angeles County sheriff's officials.

On March 12, Holbert went to the woman's Santa Clarita for a schedule massage therapy appointment, during which time he sexually assaulted her, authorities said.

Detectives believe other women may have been sexually assaulted during massage therapy sessions with the Holbert. Anyone with information about Holbert or the investigation can contact the sheriff's Special Victims Bureau at (877) 710-5273.
