Detectives Investigating Santa Clarita Burglary Want To Speak To Couple In 'Selfie'

SANTA CLARITA (CBSLA.com) — Authorities are interested in speaking to a couple in a "selfie" uploaded to the cloud storage account of a woman whose Santa Clarita home was ransacked.

A woman reported returning home July 30 to find her front door unlocked and her home ransacked, Deputy Joshua Dubin said. The mesh screen on the kitchen window was also cut out.

The woman told deputies that electronics, cash and other property had been stolen.

Over the next few days, the woman accessed her cloud storage account and noticed photos of people she didn't know had been backed up to her account. The photos were uploaded to the cloud after the burglary, Dubin said.

Detectives assigned to the case would like to speak to the people in the photographs. They have not been named suspects, but are considered persons of interest.

Anyone with information about the couple's identity can call LA Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS (8477), going to lacrimestoppers.org or emailing Detective Dow at BRDow@lasd.org.
