Detectives Investigate Homicide Inside Hemet Residence

HEMET (CBSLA.com)  —  Investigators in Hemet are probing a homicide of an adult male found dead inside a residence Saturday.

Police were called to a home in the 4000 block of Bariloche Lane around 10:20 am. to conduct a welfare check on a resident whose front door was found open. The man also could not be immediately located.

While checking through the house, police said they located an adult white male deceased. Officials said the body showed obvious signs of trauma indicating the man died as a result of a homicide.

Detectives from the Hemet Police Department were called to take over the investigation.

City News Service reported that the victim was identified as 56-year-old Martin Mitchell.

The investigation is on-going.
