Deputy, Suspect Wounded In Santa Clarita Shooting

SANTA CLARITA (CBSLA) — A deputy and a suspect were wounded in a Santa Clarita neighborhood shooting Tuesday evening.

The shooting was reported after deputies in the area responded to a report of a man with a gun in the 21300 block of Bottle Tree Lane about 10:30 p.m.

The deputy was rushed to a hospital by fellow deputies, but he is expected to survive. The wounded suspect was treated at the scene before being taken to a hospital. He was listed in critical condition.

Authorities were searching for additional suspects on Dockweiler Drive, between Valle Del Sorro and Sierra Highway, and asked the public to steer clear of the area.

The investigation was expected to be carried out through Wednesday morning.
