Deputy-Involved Shooting Reported In Bellflower Area

BELLFLOWER (CBSLA.com) — A deputy-involved shooting has been reported in Bellflower where a large police presence remained for hours in search for a suspect who was later apprehended.

No deputies were injured in the shooting in the area of Woodruff and Rosecrans avenues.

The situation unfolded at approximately 2:45 p.m. Thursday, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

It remains unclear what prompted the deputy to fire his weapon.

It's also unclear whether the suspect was injured, although the department reported the incident as a "non-hit" shooting.

Deputies had set-up a containment area in their search for the suspect. They reported late Thursday evening that the suspect had been taken into custody.
