Deputies Seek Public's Help To Locate Missing Man With Dementia

COMPTON (CBSLA.com) — The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department asked for the public's help Monday in locating a missing 57-year-old man.

Ronald Darnell Gary was last seen about 10:30 a.m. Sept. 30, walking on Long Beach Boulevard near the 105 Freeway in Compton, according to the Sheriff's Department.

Gary is 5-foot-7 and weighs about 200 pounds.

He has short black hair and was last seen wearing a black jogging suit with a lime green polo shirt and black tennis shoes.

He was also wearing a gold-colored chain with an eagle medallion, and prescription glasses.

Sheriff's officials said Gary's family is concerned as he has dementia and is easily confused. The LASD also said he recently suffered a stroke and requires medication regularly.

Anyone with information as to Gary's whereabouts was asked to call the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's Homicide Bureau, Missing Persons Unit, Sgt. Velasquez at (323) 890-5500.
