Deputies Arrest Gunman In Pico Rivera

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Deputies arrested a 24-year-old male suspect armed with a gun in Pico Rivera on Saturday.

According to the Pico Rivera Sheriff's Station, deputies were sent around 4:50 a.m. to the area of Rio Hindo Park, near Myrtle Street and Edna Street to set up a containment area for report of several people fighting.

Once on scene, deputies found the suspect wearing dark clothing, and running from the location.

SWAT team members were eventually called to the scene, deputies explained.

Around 6:53 a.m. officials reported several homes had been evacuated while deputies continued their search. It was unclear, however, how many residents had been displaced.

The suspect was taken into custody around 7:30 a.m. and was transported to an area hospital for a possible dog bite.
