Deputies: OC Man Fatally Shoots Wife, Kills Himself In Front Of Their 2 Children

MISSION VIEJO (CBSLA.com) — A man shot his wife dead outside a Mission Viejo apartment building and then killed himself in front of their two young children Halloween night, officials reported.

Scott Gimbel, 50, and Linda Gimbel, 44, were found outside 26871 La Alameda, according to Orange County Sheriff's Lt. Jeff Hallock.

The shooting happened around 8:30 p.m. Friday during a child custody exchange, where the couple's 7-year-old and 13-year-old were sitting in a vehicle.

No further details have been released.
