Decomposing Body In Car Under Investigation In Monterey Park

MONTEREY PARK (CBSLA.com) — An investigation continued Tuesday into the death of a man whose decomposed body was found in a car in Monterey Park.

The body was found about 7:30 p.m. Monday in the 200 block of South Lincoln Avenue after people reported a strong odor, Sheriff's homicide Sgt. Bill Cotter said.

The car was not reported stolen, according to Cotter.

Authorities did not say whether they had determined the cause of death, and whether the man had been identified.
