Death Of 'That '70s Show' Actress Ruled Accidental Drug Overdose

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — The August 2013 death of "That '70s Show" actress Lisa Robin Kelly has been ruled an accident caused by multiple drug intoxication, according to a report from the LA County Coroner's office.

Kelly, 43, played Laurie -- Eric Forman's promiscuous older sister -- on the popular sitcom from 1998-2006. Drug problems dating back to the show's third season reportedly caused producers to fire her. Kelly came back to the show in season five and was replaced by another actress in season six.

The actress died in her sleep on August 14 while a resident at a Southern California drug rehab facility.

The drugs found in the actress' system were not disclosed.

A final report is not likely available for several more weeks, according to Assistant Coroner Chief Ed Winter.

In the past few years, the actress had gained more notoriety for run-ins with the law than she had for her post-"That 70s Show" work on screen.

She had a series of arrests including a DUI in 2010 and alleged spousal abuse involving Robert Gilliam, her husband of one year in 2012. She filed for divorce earlier in 2013, and the case was pending at the time of her death.

Kelly, a native of Connecticut, made guest appearances on many shows in the 1990s, including "Silk Stalkings," "Murphy Brown," "Married with Children" and "The X-Files." She also had bit roles in films such as "Jawbreaker," "Payback," "Clubland" and "Performance Anxiety."
