Death Of Hesperia Resident Remains Under Investigation

RANCHO CUCAMONGA (CBSLA.com) — Authorities on Monday continued to investigate the death of a Hesperia resident who was found in his vehicle on the 210 Freeway this weekend.

A blue Nissan belonging to Ricardo Chavez was found on the north side of the westbound lanes of the thoroughfare just east of the Day Creek exit in Rancho Cucamonga.

The incident was reported to authorities about 7:52 p.m., on Oct. 4, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department (LASD).

The 40-year-old Chavez was taken to the hospital where he died of undisclosed injuries.

The LASD said in a written statement that Sheriff's Homicide Detail was called to the scene due to the "suspicious circumstances."
