Death investigation launched after body discovered near Rancho Cucamonga creek

A death investigation has been launched after a body was discovered near a creek in Rancho Cucamonga on Monday. 

Deputies with the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Office and Rancho Cucamonga Fire Department were dispatched to the area, just north of Almond Street and Turquoise Avenue at around 10:30 a.m., after learning of the possibly deceased person, according to a statement from SBSD. 

"The reporting party advised he was hiking near the creek with his dogs when he discovered the deceased subject," the statement said. 

Upon arrival they found the deceased person, whom was later determined to be a male. The Coroner's Division was called to the scene to assume the investigation. 

The man has not yet been identified no cause of death has yet been revealed. 

"There were no signs of foul play," deputies said.
