Deadly Stabbing Investigation Underway In Willowbrook

WILLOWBROOK (CBSLA.com) — Homicide detectives Friday investigated the circumstances surrounding the stabbing death of a man in Willowbrook.

Sheriff's deputies responded just before 10 p.m. Thursday to the 11600 block of South Avalon Boulevard for report of a stabbing.

Upon their arrival, authorities pronounced an adult man dead at the scene. His identity is being withheld pending family notification.

At this time, no arrests have been made in connection with the stabbing.

Police are searching for a Hispanic man who is believed to be in his mid 30s.

Metro's Green Line trains are currently bypassing the Avalon Station due to police activity.

To access the Avalon Station, Metro officials urged commuters to use bus shuttles that are available from Willowbrook/Rosa Parks and Harbor Freeway Station.

Avalon Boulevard remains closed in both directions at the 105 Freeway, officials said.

The investigation is ongoing.
