Deadly Stabbing Investigation Underway in Oxnard

OXNARD (CBSLA.com) — Homicide detectives Monday investigated the circumstances surrounding the stabbing death of an assault victim in Oxnard.

According to the Oxnard Police Department, officers were sent around 7:45 p.m. Sunday to Gonzales Road at Lantana Street for report of a fight in the area.

Upon their arrival, authorities located an assault victim suffering from severe stab wounds.

Paramedics transported the victim to Ventura County Medical Center where they succumbed to injuries.

At this time, the gender and identity of the victim are being withheld pending family notification.

Police said this incident marks the city's fourth homicide so far this year.

A $10,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the murder.

The investigation is ongoing.
