Deadly Shooting Investigation Underway In Pomona

POMONA (CBSLA.com) — Homicide detectives Monday investigated the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a 24-year-old man in Pomona.

Officers were sent around 6:30 p.m. Sunday to the 1500 block of San Bernardino for report of shots fired, according to police.

While authorities were responding to the location, a caller advised dispatch that there was a victim of a shooting in an alley located in the 1700 block of Appleton Way.

Upon their arrival, officers pronounced a man dead at the scene. He was later identified as Pomona resident Nicholas Anthony Pletcher.

A preliminary investigation revealed two Hispanic man believed to be in their 20s fled on foot from the area.

Detectives believe the motive for the shooting may be gang-related.
