Gunman Wanted For Fatally Shooting Woman, Critically Injuring Man In Lynwood

LYNWOOD (CBSLA.com) — Homicide detectives Thursday searched for the gunman who fatally shot a woman and wounded a man in Lynwood.

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, the shooting was reported around 11:36 a.m. Wednesday in the 11400 block of Copeland Street.

Upon their arrival, authorities transported both victims to a hospital for treatment of gunshot wounds.

The woman later succumbed to her injuries at the hospital. Her identity is being withheld pending family notification.

At this time, the man remains listed in critical condition.

A preliminary investigation revealed three people were inside a parked vehicle at a curb when a suspect fired several shots into their car.

The third passenger did not sustain injuries from the shooting.

A description of the gunman has not been provided.

The investigation is ongoing.
