Deadly Shooting In North Hills Linked To Possible 'Road Rage Incident'

NORTH HILLS (CBSLA.com) — Police say the murder of a 37-year-old man in the San Fernando Valley may be tied to a case of "road rage".

Officers from LAPD Valley Bureau responded to a report of a shooting Thursday night around 7:20 p.m. at the corner of Van Nuys Boulevard and Plummer Street in North Hills, according to police.

When officers arrived, they found a male Hispanic near a vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound, police said.

Paramedics responded and transported the victim - a Winnetka resident - to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Detectives say the initial investigation revealed that the suspects were involved in a possible "road rage" incident with the victim. One of the suspects used a firearm to shoot the victim and then fled the location along with the second suspect, according to police.

The victim's identity was not released pending notification to family.

Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call Detective Dave Peteque of LAPD Valley Bureau Homicide at (818) 374-1934.
