Homicide Detectives Investigate Shooting Death Of Man In Compton

COMPTON (CBSLA.com) — Homicide detectives Tuesday investigated the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a man in Compton.

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, the shooting took place just before 10 p.m. Monday in the 1700 block of East Alondra Boulevard.

Upon their arrival, authorities located an unresponsive adult African American man bleeding from a gunshot wound.

Paramedics pronounced the victim dead at the scene. His identity is being withheld pending family notification.

Witnesses told authorities they heard people arguing outside before gunshots were fired in the area.

At this time, no suspect description is available.

The investigation is ongoing.
