Deadly Police Shooting Snarls Rush-Hour Traffic In Studio City
STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — Commuters who head through Studio City on Friday evening were advised that a deadly police shooting shut down Ventura Boulevard west of Laurel Canyon Boulevard.

Ventura was closed just west of Laurel Canyon to Laurelgrove Avenue until midnight. Drivers traveling east on Ventura from Beverly Glen Boulevard should take a left and head north on Whitsett Avenue to circumvent the closure. Those traveling west on Ventura from Hollywood can bypass the closure by heading north on Laurel Canyon and continuing west on Moorpark Street or Riverside Drive.
Laurel Canyon was temporarily closed right below Woodbridge Street to Ventura until about 7 p.m. Drivers can now move through the Ventura intersection but cannot turn west onto Ventura.
If coming south from the 101, drivers can still exit Laurel Canyon but should turn on Moorpark or Woodbridge before hitting the Ventura closure.
