Deadly hit-and-run crash under investigation in Mission Hills

Police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash that happened in Mission Hills on Wednesday evening. 

It happened a little before 10 p.m. near Rinaldi Street and Sepulveda Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. 

Officers were dispatched to the scene after learning that a man crossing the street outside of a marked crosswalk was struck by a black Chevrolet truck. 

The victim, only identified as a man in his 30s or 40s, was taken to a nearby hospital where he later succumbed to injuries suffered in the crash, police said. 

Investigators did not have any details on the alleged hit-and-run driver.
