Motor Home Barrels Into Sylmar House; Driver Killed

SYLMAR (CBSLA.com) — A 52-year-old man was killed Friday after crashing his motor home into the side of a house in Sylmar.

The collision unfolded around 11:40 p.m. Thursday in the 13600 block of N. Borden Ave, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Upon their arrival, paramedics pronounced the driver dead at the scene. He was later identified as James Digaetano.

A preliminary investigation revealed a couple was outside in the side yard of the residence when the motor home struck their bathroom.

Electricity, gas and water services have been turned off for the time being.

Police believe a medical condition may have caused Digaetano to crash.

The incident remains under investigation.
