1 Killed, 4 Injured In Multi-Vehicle Crash In Mid-Wilshire Area

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Police Monday investigated a multi-vehicle traffic collision that killed one person and injured four others in the Mid-Wilshire area.

According to the Los Angeles Police Department, officers were sent shortly after 1:00 a.m. to the 4900 block of West San Vicente Boulevard for report of a traffic collision

Upon their arrival, authorities learned three vehicles collided into each other near La Brea Avenue.

Paramedics transported four people to a hospital for treatment of moderate to serious injuries sustained in the crash. An update on their conditions was not immediately available.

One person was pronounced dead at the scene. Their identity is being withheld pending family notification.

La Brea Avenue and San Vicente Boulevard remained closed to traffic until just after 6:00 a.m., officials said.

A preliminary investigation revealed one of the vehicles may have ran a red light at the intersection, police said.

At this time, there is no evidence of street racing.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
