Dan DeLuca Shares Role In Disney Musical 'Newsies'

STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) — Cast member Dan DeLuca stopped by KCAL9 Thursday to talk about the Tony Award-winning musical "Newsies."

DeLuca plays Jack Kelly -- a newsboy and leader of a ragged band of teenaged "newsies" who dream for a better life away from the hardships from the streets -- in the Disney musical.

The play is set in New York City and is inspired by the real life newsboy strike of 1899 against Pulitzer, Hearst and other powerful newspaper publishers.

The production also features Steve Blanchard, Stephanie Styles, Angela Grovey, Jacob Kemp, Zachary Sayle, Vincent Crocilla and Anthony Rosenthal.

"Newsies" is playing at the Hollywood Pantages theater through April 19.
