Customers Thwart Robbery At AMPM Market In Riverside
RIVERSIDE (CBSLA.com) — A man who tried to rob an ampm market in Riverside got quite a surprise when customers stopped him in his tracks.
Police say the suspect walked up to the register Sunday morning pretending to be a customer at the market along Day Street, about three blocks south of Highway 60.
When the cashier opened the drawer, the suspect tried to grab the money out of the till.
Investigators say that's when about two or three customers intervened.
The suspect was not armed.
