Culver City shooting victim dies in hospital

A man shot at the corner of La Cienega and Washington near the Culver City Arts District Thursday night died at a hospital.

Officers responded to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon at the 5900 block of West Washington Boulevard at 10:42 p.m., according to the Culver City Police Dept.

An adult male suffering a gunshot wound to the chest was hospitalized, where he was pronounced dead, according to police. A car was found crashed at the scene.

A nearby 7-Eleven store was closed during the investigation due to the proximity to the shooting.

No suspect description was released.
