Suspect Arrested In South Pasadena Crime Spree

SOUTH PASADENA (CBSLA.com) — A suspect was arrested Wednesday in connection with a string of crimes in South Pasadena, police said.

Five residential burglaries and three sexual assaults were reported in the city, starting at about 7:30 a.m., the South Pasadena Police Department said. The sexual assault victims were not physically injured, police said.

Police announced an arrest had been made just before 2:30 p.m.

The suspect, who had not been identified Wednesday afternoon, was described as a 22-year-old man.

A middle school and a high school in the area where the crimes were reported were locked down briefly while an investigation was conducted.

In one case, the suspect was seen armed with a knife, and a knife was recovered at a burglary scene, police said.
