Crews Working To Restore Power For Thousands As Outages Sweep Across LA County

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Thousands of Angelenos were without power Saturday as thunderstorms swept through the Southland.

The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power is looking into whether or not severe weather is directly related to scattered outages across the county.

The agency reported shortly after 2 p.m. 3,000 customers were without power in the Vermont-Slauson area.

Another 2,400 were without power in South L.A. In Lincoln Heights, 2,000 were without service. In Westlake District and University Park there were 1,700 and 1,000 reported outages, respectively.

It was not immediately clear when power was expected to be restored.
