Crews Begin Towing Vehicles From Flooded UCLA Parking Structure

WESTWOOD (CBSLA.com) — Crews worked overtime Friday to remove vehicles from a flooded parking structure at UCLA.

The university began towing 267 vehicles from Parking Structure 4 at 7 p.m. Thursday.

The cars were parked in the easternmost section of the structure, which was flooded by a broken water main that sent approximately 20 million gallons of water onto the UCLA campus Tuesday.

More than 900 vehicles were left stranded in structures 4 and 7 as a result.

The vehicles were being towed to UCLA Parking Lot 36 where owners can begin picking them up at 10 a.m.

The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power is taking claims for personal injury or property damage due to the broken water line.

Claim forms can be found online here.
