Porter Ranch Property Catches Fire For Second Consecutive Day

PORTER RANCH (CBSLA.com) — Crews Tuesday battled a fire at a San Fernando Valley address for the second day in a row, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Officials said the blaze was originally sparked late Monday morning in the 19000 block of Muirkirk Drive in Porter Ranch and was extinguished by firefighters in 14 minutes, according to the LAFD.

The attic of a home at the same address caught fire again around 6:45 a.m. Tuesday and was knocked down at 7:12 a.m.

The residence's sole occupant was able to escape.

Capt. Erik Scott said a guest house and a single-family residence are on the property and it was unclear if the same structure caught fire.

The causes of both fires were under investigation.
