LAFD: No Animals Injured In Westchester Petco Fire

WESTCHESTER (CBSLA.com) — Crews Wednesday battled an early morning fire at a pet store near Los Angeles International Airport.

The fire was reported at 5:14 a.m. at a Petco store in the 8800 block of Sepulveda Boulevard in Westchester, the Los Angeles Fire Department said.

When crews arrived on scene, they found flames coming from the roof of the two-story building.

It took 85 firefighters 24 minutes to knock down the fire, which was contained to the structure's roof and attic, according to the LAFD.

No injuries to firefighters or animals were reported.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
