Coroner Responds To Possible Suicide Inside Beverly Center: Police

BEVERLY HILLS (CBSLA) — Shoppers evacuated the Beverly Center Sunday after reports of a shooting in a store dressing room.

The incident in the 8500 block of Beverly Boulevard unfolded just after noon.

It was there that authorities say a possibly self-inflicted shooting unfolded. Initial reports indicated the incident occurred inside a Forever 21 dressing room.

Authorities stressed that a "Code 4" was called as police and firefighters responded to the scene.

Employees were told to lock their doors and not let anyone in or out.

Shoppers say they were shocked to hear what happened.

"I heard one shot and then we were shopping and there was this commission and we needed to evacuate," said Ahmed Mahmood. "I didn't expect it in Beverly Hills because it's such a privileged area."

No other injuries were reported.
