Coroner: Male, 51, Fatally Struck On 110 Freeway In South LA

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A pedestrian fatally struck by a car while trying to cross the 110 Freeway in South Los Angeles Sunday has been identified as a 51-year-old male.

Coroner's spokesman Ed Winter told City News Service Harold Acy Brooks was hit by an oncoming car in the southbound Express Lane near Century Boulevard at approximately 10:30 p.m.

He was declared dead at Harbor UCLA Medical Center.

It is unclear why Brooks was on the freeway.

The CHP is investigating.

The 21-year-old driver of the car that hit Brooks had not been cited at press time.
