Coroner: Body Discovered In Palm Desert Identified As Missing LA Executive

PALM DESERT (CBSLA.com) — The Riverside County Coroner's Office Friday confirmed a body found in Palm Desert was that of a missing Los Angeles-area executive.

The family of Omar Meza announced his death on a Facebook page Thursday after authorities discovered a body in water in the 74800 block of Country Club Drive.

"We are with heavy hearts tonight as we announce the passing of Omar Meza. He was a very loved son, husband, brother & friend," the post read in part.

Meza, who was an AIG sales executive, was last seen Jan. 8 around 11 p.m. where he was staying at Desert Springs, a J.W. Marriott Resort & Spa.

He was reported missing the next day after he failed to show up to scheduled meetings.

His body was discovered around 2:15 p.m. Thursday, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.

The cause of death has yet to be released.
