Stabbing In Corona Leaves 1 Dead, Multiple Injured
CORONA (CBSLA) - A stabbing in Corona left one person dead and multiple people critically injured, authorities reported Monday evening.
Police were called to the 1300 block of Turquoise Drive in Corona just before 5 p.m. after a neighbor in the area reported people were fighting in the street, according to a Corona Police Department spokesperson.
While en route to the area, police were told that someone was being stabbed.
Upon arriving, police say they located one deceased male in the street, with other victims critically injured.
Those injured were transported to a local hospital and their status was not immediately released.
The Corona neighborhood is described as a quiet area with many longtime neighbors who are wondering if the incident was related to a domestic dispute that got out of control.
Neighbor Alejandra Lizarraga said, "It's sad, it's heartbreaking, it's shocking, it's surprising."
Officers detained one male at the scene.
Corona Police officer Tobias Kouroubacalis said, "Any witnesses in the area that may have witnessed this physically or have cellphone or dash cam video then absolutely, please contact us."
