Corona Residents Outraged After Swastikas, Slurs Were Spray-Painted On Wall

CORONA (CBSLA.com) — A Corona neighborhood is outraged after swastikas and hateful slurs toward police and Mexicans were spray-painted on a wall.

Corona police say a witness driving by noticed a person spray-painting a wall and called police.

The graffiti is on a wall next to a busy street leading into a development and police say they hope to have it cleaned up as soon as possible.

"It's hard to believe that this kind of hatred is still going on," said an area resident. "It's sad to know that it's happening in this neighborhood, you know, so close to home."

Neighbors say kids ride their bikes in the area and the neighborhood gets a lot of traffic.

"It angers me. Why do you want to destroy where you live? Why do you want that kind of stuff on the walls?" one resident asked.

Police said they arrested a 16-year-old who lives in the neighborhood. He has since been released to his parents.
