Firefighters Rescue Injured Construction Worker From Atop Crane

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Firefighters used a helicopter to rescue a construction worker from the top of a 270-foot crane in downtown Los Angeles.

Paramedics made their way up the crane, at 825 S. Hill St., to evaluate the construction worker's injuries and determine the best method of safely bringing him down from the crane, according to Los Angeles Fire dispatchers.

A hoist operation using a helicopter was determined to be the best method of rescue.

Dispatchers received a call for rescue at 1:28 p.m. for the worker, who was reported to be in fair condition.
