Concerns Grow Over Hollywood And Highland Violence After Stabbing

HOLLYWOOD (CBSLA.com) — There are new worries about safety near the popular Hollywood & Highland complex after another violent attack Sunday, the third of its kind in 18 months.

Police say a man was stabbed in the back in front of a McDonald's half a block from the popular shopping center.

Several people told CBS2/KCAL9 they saw what happened but declined to go on camera.

Witnesses report seeing a man remove a glass bottle from a trash can and approach the suspect, who they say took out a small pocketknife and stabbed the victim in the back.

Police confirm the victim's injuries are not life-threatening and the suspect remains at large. They say the stabbing had nothing to do with tourism, involving two locals who crossed paths.
