Compton Man Gets Life In Prison For Triple Murder

TORRANCE (AP) — A Southern California man convicted of killing three people, including two brothers, in a gang shooting has been sentenced to life in prison without chance of parole.

City News Service says Luis Erasmo Rivera Garcia of Compton was sentenced Friday for the August 2008 attack that occurred near Inglewood.

Garcia was convicted last fall of first-degree murder for shooting Los Angeles residents Jose Farias, Victor Farias and Vidal Rebolledo. He also was found guilty of attempting to murder a fourth person.

Authorities believe Garcia mistook the victims for rival gang members.

Garcia has been in jail since he was arrested in a 2011 gang sweep.
