Complimentary Christmas Meals & Gifts Served Across Southern California

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Thousands of needy families will receive free meals Friday in observance of Christmas Day.

The Midnight Mission will host it's annual Christmas Day Brunch and Santa's Village for the homeless and near-homeless population living on Skid Row.

Volunteers at the Mission handed out toys to children starting at 8:30 a.m. this morning. Each child received a book, a stocking stuffer, and four toys of their choice.

Entertainer Dick Van Dyke will be among celebrity personalities who have volunteered to serve traditional Christmas meals to thousands across the region.

Union Station Homeless Services is expected to serve more than 1,500 meals to adults, families, senior citizens and people who are alone or unable to afford a holiday meal at Pasadena's Central Park. This year marks the 43rd annual dinner event.

In Hollywood, The Laugh Factory conducted its 36th annual Free Christmas Day Feast for anyone who was in need of a warm meal. Comics performed live shows after each meal being served at 1 p.m., 3 p.m., 5 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Temple Israel of Hollywood will host it's 29th annual Christmas dinner for the hungry and homeless at Hollywood United Methodist Church.

At 11 a.m., Miracle on 6th Street will host it's 11th annual Christmas dinner service at Maverick Steakhouse & Saloon in Norco.

Meanwhile, several traditional Masses and church services will be held to celebrate the birth of Jesus.

Inmates at the Men's Central Jail will also partake in a Christmas Mass.
