Coast Guard Searching For Missing Swimmer In Redondo Beach

REDONDO BEACH (CBSLA.com) — The Coast Guard is searching for a woman who went missing in the waters near the Redondo Beach Pier early Sunday morning.

The woman, whose name was not immediately released, was last seen getting into the water around 1 a.m.

A Coast Guard spokesperson says the people who reported her missing didn't see her get out of the water, although they said they weren't keeping a close watch.

The search is focused in the area of Horseshoe Cove.

L.A. County lifeguards are helping with the efforts.

Rescuers hope the woman got out of the water with no one seeing her.
